THE SKOL TRIO: Live Dates Announced
April 7, 2003THE SKOL TRIO, the band led by former TESTAMENT/SAVATAGE axeman Alex Skolnick, have lined up the following appearances during May/June:
May 29 - LaGrange, KY @ Twice-Told Cafe
May 30 - Milwaukee, WI @ Vnuk's
May 31 - Chicago, IL @ Gunther Murphy's
Jun. 01 - Detroit, MI @ Motor City Guitar
Jun. 03 - Cleveland, OH @ Night town
THE SKOL TRIO are also playing free shows at the Knitting Factory (74 Leonard Street) in New York City at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday nights through this month. The group are touring in support of their latest CD, "Goodbye To Romance: Standards For A New Generation", which consists of classic hard rock tunes from the '70s and '80s rearranged "with rich harmonies and pulsating grooves of swing, funk and Latin" in what is truly an unprecedented mix of metal and jazz. Among the cuts featured on the CD are versions of KISS' "Detroit Rock City", AEROSMITH's "Dream On" and THE SCORPIONS' "No One Like You".
